It's a Family Affair
Parents and families are encouraged to participate in their child's experience at Skip-a-Long. Talk with your child's teacher each day to learn more about the care and activities we provide.
Parents can call at anytime. All classrooms have access to phones.
All classrooms and administrative staff have e-mail accounts.
Directors and Family Service Providers are available to talk to parents as needed.
Parent/teacher conferences are held on an annual basis; others will be scheduled upon a parent's request.
Parent Council
Each campus has its own parent council that meets regularly. All parents are encouraged to join. At these meetings parents:
Discuss recent events with Directors and Family Service Providers
Share frustrations and celebrations about the center, classrooms, parenting, children, etc.
Plan and be a part of upcoming rallies, fundraisers, picnics, etc.
Volunteer Opportunities
There are many ways to get involved with your child's experience. Ask your child's teacher what you can do. Here are a few ideas:
Reading in a classroom and/or helping with projects
Chairing an event committee or helping at an event (graduation, rally, etc.)
Chaperoning a classroom field trip
Bringing treats or supplies for a classroom event
Donating canned foods, school supplies, etc. for events
